DMT : Ludhiana : (09 March 2023) : – SCD Govt. College Ludhiana alumni mourn the demise of their beloved teacher Prof. L S Malhotra (98)who was cremated here on Wednesday. A spokesperson for alumni Brij Goyal informs that Prof. Malhotra taught English literature in the college for a long stint from 1949 to 1981. He was Managing Editor of the college magazine, The Sutlej taking it to heights of enviable possession of its copy by the students each year. Alumni who mourned his death include Prof Rashmi Verma , Shivdudar Singh Dhillon(IAS)Retd.,Prof. Ashok Kapoor(PES-I) Prof Sarita Matta,Mrs. Kalia and Prof Sarita Tiwari,Industrialist S S Bhogal, Prof Ashok Sharma and Prof I P setia. Manjit Sandhu (All his students ) besides many others.Prof.Ashok Kapoor says: “The exit of one of the illustrious members of the grand old generation has impoverished the teaching community.He will be fondly remembered as a soft spoken , modest and urbane person whose polished demeanour struck every one deeply. His students held him in esteem for his sweet temperament and his deep learning.”
