DMT : Ludhiana : (25 March 2023) : – The Annual Convocation of Christian Medical College, Christian Dental College, College of Nursing, College of Physiotherapy & Institute of Allied Health Sciences, Ludhiana was held on 25th March 2023 with traditional grandeur in the College Campus Dr. Vinod K Paul, MD, PhD, FAMS, FNASc, FASc, FNA, Member, National Institution for Transforming India, the NITI Aayog, Govt of India was the Chief Guest.
Dr. William Bhatti, Director welcomed the gathering, Dr. Jeyaraj D Pandian, Principal, Christian Medical College, administered the Hippocratic Oath to the Graduates and presented the Annual Report of the College highlighting the achievements, awards and honours won by the faculty and the students.
The Chief Guest Dr. Vinod K Paul appreciated the role of CMC in providing high quality medical education and health care. He urged the graduates to be responsive to the health needs of the society and fulfill their mandate of providing holistic health. He emphasized that both communicable diseases and non-communicable diseases are important issues facing the population. He urged the graduates to continue learning throughout their lives to ensure that they keep themselves abreast with the latest developments. Dr. Vinod K Paul hoped that many of the graduates will work in remote areas of India as per CMCs mandate.

A total of 233 graduates from 5 colleges received their degrees. Students excelling in various academic activities were awarded Prizes and Medals by the Chief Guest.
Dr Uday Modi received Dr Ajit Bhattacharya memorial Gold medal for highest mark in all Professional examinations. Dr Adeti Joshi received the Elizabeth Gopal Krishnan Gold Medal Scholarship Merit award for the best outgoing MBBS student in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Divya Varghese, Dr. Aaron S Das, Dr. Prateek Takyar & Dr. Ashima Arora were awarded Dr. Jaswant Kaur Gill Memorial award for best outgoing Medicine Residents.
Dr. Bharath R, Dr. Sukirti Chauhan, Dr. Nidhie Shajan & Dr. Palak Satija were awarded Dr. Sheila Singh Paul Memorial Award for best resident in Pediatrics.
Dr. Max K Shibu, Dr. Ashutosh Masih, Dr. Harry Mehta received the faculty award for the best outgoing Orthopedics resident.
Dr. Krishna Murari, Dr. Karanbir Singh,Dr. Savleen Kaur received the Dr. F.C. Eggleston Best outgoing Postgraduate Resident Award in Surgery.
