DMT : Ludhiana : (06 April 2023) : – Ludhiana Police has successfully cracked blind robbery case FIR No.24 dated 02-03-2023 u/s 392 IPC, PS Dehlon. The accused, identified as Shivam and Harmeet have been arrested. Section 392 provides for rigorous imprisonment for a term which may extend to ten years.
The case pertains to a heinous crime committed against an elderly couple, Jaspal Singh alias Pal, a 64-year-old and his wife Inderjit Kaur in Dashmesh Enclave Amalgir, on 1st March, 2023. At around 6 AM, two masked men entered the couple’s home through the main door entrance. They held a weapon to Jaspal Singh’s ear, tied his hands and feet, and demanded money. The culprits then took out cash of 1,27,000/- rupees from the couple’s cupboard, along with their mobile phones, and locked them in a room before fleeing the scene.
ACCUSED ARRESTED:
- Shivam Tangri (25 yrs) s/o Late Vikas Tangri, r/o House No. 283 Preet Nagar, Street No. 2 Near Malli Palace Ludhiana, Now at H.No. 197, Street No. 7, Ekta Vihar Colony, Haibowal Kalan, Ludhiana
- Harmeet Singh alias Honey (23 yrs) s/o Late Sukhwinder Singh, R/o H. No. B 34 7671 Street No. 5 Chandra Nagar Near Dashmesh Pita Gurudwara Sahib, Civil Lines, Ludhiana.

The month-long efforts of Dehlon Police have paid off as they have apprehended the accused and recovered the robbed items. The elderly couple, who were traumatized by the incident, have finally heaved a sigh of relief due to the diligent investigation of the police. Despite the challenges faced by the police during the investigation, including the absence of CCTV footage, human intelligence, and eye witnesses, their diligent efforts have led to the arrest of the culprits. Commissioner of Police, Sh. Mandeep Singh Sidhu, IPS, addressing the media, praised the efforts of the police in solving the case and bringing the culprits to justice. He also highlighted the fact that the victim couple was elderly and deserved special attention and care from the police.
The arrest of the accused in the robbery case is a testament to the commitment and dedication of Ludhiana Police in upholding the law and ensuring justice for all citizens, especially the vulnerable sections of society. The police have once again proved that they will not spare any effort in protecting the people and maintaining law and order in the city.
