- FIR No-120 Dated 12.06.2023 No. 15,18,25/61/85 NDPS Act Police Station Samrala
DMT : Ludhiana : (15 June 2023) : – Under the leadership of Mrs. Amneet Kondal IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Khanna and as per the directions of Dr. Pragya Jain IPS, Superintendent of Police (Inv.), a campaign is in progress to nab bad elements and drug smugglers. Under this campaign, Inspector Amandeep Singh In-charge CIA & Khanna Police Party arrested 02 accused in FIR No. 120 dated 12.06.2023 U/S 15,18,25/61/85 NDPS Act and recovered total 04 kg 700 grams opium, 30 kg poppy husk & 02 vehicles from their possession. Action against drugs & bad elements will continue further by Khanna Police.
On dated 12.06.2023 CIA Staff Khanna’s police party was patrolling near village Balion in relation to checking of suspicious persons. They observed that 02 persons were shifting a heavy bag from an Ashok Leyland truck to Suzuki Brezza car & started running after seeing the police party. They were nabbed and on further questioning revealed their names as Dharminder Singh S/o Gurmeet Singh R/o Manal Tehsil and District Barnala & Jasvir Singh@ Jassa S/o Jaswant Singh R/o ward No. 06, Kang Mohalla, Tehsil Samrala District Ludhiana. When Police Party checked above said heavy bag it was full of Poppy Husk weighing 30 kg and on checking of Suzuki Brezza car 01 kg 700 gm opium was recovered. On this, FIR No. 120 dated 12.06.2023 U/S 15,18,25/61/85 NDPS Act PS Samrala was registered against above said accused. On 13.06.2023 both the accused were produced before the honorable court and Police remand of 02 days was obtained. During intensive questioning of accused Dharminder Singh and developing backward and forward linkages, Khanna Police recovered another 03 kg Opium from Machhiwara road, Samrala. The investigation of this case is going on and further revelations are expected.
